We've taken control of our work places and our homes. We know our civil rights and our domestic rights. The one arena where people may still feel powerless is in the area of their medical rights.
In this session you will learn some surprising facts about the way medicine frequently is practiced in the United States. Patients, as well as physicians, can become victims of a medical system gone awry.
Do you know:
Once a drug has been approved by the FDA for one use, a physician is free to prescribe that drug for any use?
What to do if you suspect that your doctor is abusing prescription medication or is drug addicted?
What to do in a medical emergency when the doctor treating you appears incompetent?
You will learn, also, how to check a physician's background, what questions to ask before you accept treatment or surgery, and how to handle a medical situation so that you won't feel powerless or intimidated by those to whom you entrust your medical care.
Additionally, you will learn what your responsibilities are to your doctor or medical provider. Responsibility works both ways, and when you know your responsibilities, you are in a better position require others to act responsibly.
